This is one complicated outfit.
Front: The bodice laces in the front, and the more I look at it, I think that is where it opens and the back lacing is fake. The front of the bodice is covered in sheer black stripes over the shoulders and down the front. The eyelets for the lacing goes through the second stripe. There are six stripes total with piping every 2. This piece extends past the bottom of the bodice and ends in a diagonal with the lower point on the outside. The middle fabric extends between the 2 diagonal tabs ending in a point. This creates the effect of a jagged edge. The rest of the front has stripes spaces farther apart until the side seams. The diagonal stripes meet and the edge of the thick black stripes for the lacing and extend into the waist tabs on the bottom of the bodice.
Back:
The back of the bodice is very complicated. I'm not sure where the seams are. There seems to be a large piece in the center back. It begins as a large triangle from the shoulders going down to almost a point at the waist. Instead of meeting it flares out again and extends past the waist into a long diamond shaped tab. The lacing continues all the way down the piece to the bottom of the tab. The seam (I think) is hidden with black piping. It looks to me like velvet, but that's just me. The diagonal stripes start from the triangle and angle down toward the front of the bodice. Here is my drawing of the back bodice. You can see a good shot of the back of the bodice here.
The bodice is either lined with a dark pink material or piped with a pinkish-red color. I'm not positive, I have to watch it again to make sure, but I *think* the bodice is not covered in a sheer layer of material like the skirt. I think the bodice is just the light purple material, which looks like satin or taffeta, with sheer black stripes over it.
Sleeves:
The upper sleeves are a semi-sheer material. I don't know exactly what they are. You can see the sun through the layers in some scenes, but you can never see her arms, so there might be another layer of material under them. They are bound at armpit length with a purple ribbon lined in black. They are bound with the same ribbon at the edge of the upper sleeve halfway down the upper arm. the lower sleeves are a sheer black layer with thin fishnet over them. They come to a point over the back of the hand. They are not tight, you can see the bagging in the elbows during certain scenes. They are also slit from the wrists to mid-forearm and close with 2 sets of black ribbons, one at the wrist and one halfway between the end of the slit and the first set of ribbons.
Skirt (Most of these are the concept skirt, but you can see the shape of it)
Ok, I have been debating this, but I think the skirt is a half-circle skirt. As you can see in the pictures, the skirt is full enough to pull up on one side without disturbing the other side. Now I know that the one in these pictures is just a concept dress, but if they kept the same shape of the skirt, I believe it is a hlaf circle, this shape gives is enough flare at the bottom, but it's tight on the top. The purple underskirt has pale black stripes on it. From the extra features, I think they have been painted on, but I'm not sure about that. I also think, from looking at various screencaps, particularlythis one, that there are pruple pleats attatched to the underskirt.
The over skirt is pieces of black or dark gray sheer material like chiffon or organza, laced together with eyelets and black cording. The sheer layer has stipes of sheer black fabric going down it, and curly shaped designs on the bottom. There are 2 openings for lacing in the front, so 1 center panel, and 2 side front panels lacing on the sides of the skirt. There are also 2 side back panels lacing in the same position as in front, only in back, a center back panel which connects to the side backs. The bottom black pleats are also attached to this layer of the skirt. A good tutorial for the pleats is located at The Costumer's Guide. The skirt falls to about mid calf in front and angles down to hit the ankles in the back.
Petticoat: I think there is a petticoat that the red pleats attatch to. In this picture you can see red pleats sticking out. I personally believe those are attatched to the petticoat she is wearing under the skirt.
Other aspects of the outfit:
In the first picture you can see where the ties on her lower sleeves are. Note: the upper sleeves are concept sleeves! The onces that were actually used were much larger and a different color, as well as less see through. There is a loop for Violet to string her hair ribbon on. I think it is connected to the bodice at the waist. You can see this in the second picture along with the eyelets and cording that lace the sheer panels of the skirt together. The ribbon is long, reaching to the bottom of her dress in front. It is sort of an olive green color. She also has thin ribbons of the same color at the ends of all the braids in her hair. The third picture shows the ribbon that is used on the upper sleeves.
Violet wears white tights with a pale diamond pattern on them. She wears boots that hit mid calf, with (I think) 7 straps going across the front. Even the boots are complicated, they have silver something criscrossing across the back of them. Violet also wears a necklace, which I'm still not sure what shape it is exactly. A circle? A heart? Maybe a locket? I don't know, I have to watch it again.
